Los Sonidos Acústicos Heats Up Miami

On August 10, 2006, ASCAP's Latin Department celebrated another installment in its long running series of "Latin Acoustic Sounds" at the second floor loft at Yuca on Lincoln Road in Miami Beach. The talented songwriters that participated at this exclusive gathering were Pablo Portillo, Carolina La O, Roque Valero and Héctor Montaner. In a new stage in his life, Pablo Portillo stood out with his interpretation of the ballad, "Te Quise Olvidar," the song that propelled his career in the United States and Puerto Rico. Next to perform was Columbian Carolina La O, who was preparing to release La Candela De Mi Fuego, her latest album, a fusing of folkloric rhythms from her homeland and Latin pop. Next, Roque Valero performed a rousing set, interpreting the tune that he sings next to his great friend Franco De Vita, the main theme song of the soap opera, Ciudad Bendita. The show concluded with Héctor Montaner, who after his first successful album, Amor del Bueno, is preparing the material for his second album with the new record label, VENE Music. The album is the result of hard work from this talented young singersongwriter, who celebrated his birthday on the night of the showcase.
